Wellness Programs Keep Employees Moving- In September 2011, North Point Technology initiated a new health and wellness program called Balance Health Works with EAP provider eni of Vestal, New York. The program provides online health risk assessments and tools to manage and improve employee and family members' health and well being. The company offers a variety of incentives to get employees moving in a positive direction toward their wellness goals. Staff have taken on activities to monitor and improve their health through education about diet and nutrition, attendance in excercise programs, lunchtime walks, and participation in charitable walks and 5k runs.

North Point Receives Recognition

Economic Champions Award 2011-North Point Technology, LLC was recognized in Syracuse, New York on October 20th as an Economic Champion for 2011 by the CenterState CEO(formerly the Greater Syracuse Chamber). Companies were nominated for their contributions to the CenterState New York economy through capital expenditures, hiring of new employees, expansion or relocation due to growth, and receipt of state or national recognition. This is the third consecutive year that North Point Technology has earned this award.

North Point Hires Engineering Talent

Charles Whitney, Senior Engineer, joined the North Point Technology engineering team in 2011. Chuck holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from Binghamton University. He has 20 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering working for companies such as Anitec Imaging Products Division of International Paper and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Most recently, he served as Staff Electrical Engineer responsible for electrical subsystems and the integration of communication and electronic equipment for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) program at Lockheed Martin. He also has experience as Electrical Integrated Product Team Lead on Lockheed’s Automated Parcel Processing System, which was nationally deployed for the U.S. Postal Service. In this capacity he was responsible for design of power system distribution and controls, integration and test functions. Chuck has experience with programming and maintenance of SCADA packages, PLCs and variable speed drivers.

Chuck earned the Lockheed Martin Company Achievement Award and has been a mentor in their Inroads program. He holds three patents for Parcel Singulation Software Control Logic. He also serves in the community as a coach and member of the Board of Directors for Endicott Youth Baseball.

North Point Hires in Johnson City

Endicott, NY (1 JUL 10) – North Point Technology, LLC, an engineering and consulting firm specializing in industrial automation and control system engineering services, has added a new Staff Engineer to their Central New York team. Ryan Kane became the newest addition to the North Point Technology staff on June 14, 2010, bringing the firm’s total number of employees in Central New York to 10. Ryan is a recent graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. While attending college Ryan interned at New York Central Mutual Insurance in Edmeston, NY developing a Java-based application for insurance queries. He also worked as a technician in the college Computer Lab, assisting other students. Ryan gained additional work experience as a Hardware Lab Assistant on contract to BAE Systems Platform Solutions in Johnson City, NY during summer breaks.

North Point Hires Three

North Point Technology has added three new staff members: two in Johnson City and one in Colorado.

Jennifer L. Olsen, administrative assistant, has more than 20 years experience in office administration, including seven years in human resources as a training manager. Olsen will provide part-time administrative support in the Johnson City office.

Gary F. Ferber, field service engineer, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering technology. He has more than 22 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering. His experience also extends to marketing, training and technical support for automation and industrial control products. His job at North Point will include marketing and assistance in establishing a new field service group.

Christopher S. Powell, systems integration specialist, has more than 10 years experience in industrial automation and controls systems, predominantly in water treatment and waste water treatment processes. He has completed six years training in the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power School and worked as a nuclear mechanic, directing engineering operations and maintenance of surface ship nuclear propulsion plants. In addition to his engineering responsibilities, Powell will be marketing to new clients in the western United States and helping establish a new field service group in our Denver office

New Engineer on Board

North Point Technology has added a new staff engineer to its New York team.

North Point Moves Headquarters

North Point Technology has moved its Johnson City, N.Y., office to Columbia Ridge Office Park, at 530 Columbia Drive, Suite102, also in Johnson City, as of Sept. 1, 2010.

North Point Technology previously leased office space on Azon Road in Johnson City. The new location is significantly larger and will better serve the company as it continues to grow, enhancing visibility and raising its profile.

North Point Technology has 10 employees in Central New York with additional offices in Denver, CO and Park City, UT.

“Our new offices are more conducive to efficient and effective operations, training and communications among our staff and it also gives us the additional room we need to host meetings and training opportunities with clients,” said Lisa W. Lee, partner and human resources officer. “We are very excited to be here.”
